MY DREAM’S BIRD

My Dream’s Bird is absolutely my own
We can’t live in this world without dreams
   From childhood to gray days
   Dreams come and dreams go
Sometimes it’s daydream, sometime nightmare with tremendous shocking , yet I play with these unrealistic games,
Never getting any fruitful solution
Running into the darkened mist .

Let fly in the sky your dream bird
Don’t captivate your small desires in your secret chamber, don’t afraid of walking through the dark forest or deep sea ,
Or climbing at peak of high mountain
Always be firm and steady in your journey
Whatever the consequence it’s , So don’t stop to enjoy dreams as life is too much uncertain why do you not enjoy it.

SAVE ME, MOTHER!

Oh , My mind , Let plunging into the deep Ocean by the name of Kali. She is the Mistress of this eternal Universe and also our beloved guide , helping us in all our activities , in our dream , in our pain and suffering , in our allduties and responsibilities likewatchtower always directing us to reach safely towards purification and illuminating world .

Mother ! I have been killing my golden time of life playing withDolls, and havingabsented fromnot doing your work , how could I reach to you ? Tell me , Mother . I’m am sinking into my own digging waterbody by mistaking . And have spent my times and energies to enjoy instant access of pleasure.

Mistakenly I have been chased after impured and untrue means . Let you come to me to rescue from this muddy waters of falsehood, as It has been mesmerizing me . My toe to head are wrapped up in muds. I am like a drawning boat in the middle of tormented and dreadful waves , having no helmsman to
guide me.

I am drifting helplessly like a straw . As I have been  tremendously wounded and my soul shivering for uncertainty. Hence, no one will come to save me but you. Oh my Mother! Please stretch your hands to save a sinking man who is waiting for you.

MY PATH HAS GONE TO YOU

The greatest friend of truth is Time, her greatest enemy is Prejudice, and her constant companion is Humility.” – C C Colton

YOURS AND MY PATH

We think that ours journey towards life are straight, And trouble – free , Not a single stuff and clumsiness might not hinder us from our Fest . But Is it true ? This is a question of general mob who has no backing of power like chief minister’s nephew .

It’s not life where you never you face any deep forest of clouds in your path? Or a dreadful night! Life is a playing field where we play a short term game , May be you have succeeded by your skilled, or not !

Perhaps I couldn’t , but trying utmost in this short span of life, having lost or gain, no shy . If you start your journey towards light , have to cross so many red and black seas , forests and peaks of the mountains , Even long long desert – may it be , “Gobi Sahara”or run of Cocch, the endless desert.

you have to cross a long way to achieve the immortal vibrant light of Gods . May it be a play or Lila? We ought to not what it is ? But each and everyone must play on in Winter or in the dark rainy night with”Him” , Never become wearied and exhausted in this race , As it’s your life’s play.

I have put you in my heart with gourding and fencing, None can reach there except my beloved , No one can able to snatch you from my deep and sensational eyes And heart as I see you in my inner eye like a torch light , When I finished my all fight through the path of dreadful night.

You have gifted me all your love and light , day and night I never miss you as you and me are one . You are my unknown world, silent night , the star of the night and the Sun of the day .

you are my melodies and hymn . I used to draw your picture since time immemorial , you walk through my path in sorrows and Joy , I am wrapped in you , so never fall from the Sky.

LET THE WORLD GROWS EVERYDAY

Dr. Sushil Rudra

I desire to live in this world, it’s my sweet home. Never I want this world to be a very small like seed or a fruit, Amloki . I want a world which would spread peace and harmony, Certainly I would get found my world.

Oh my world, please extent yourself, expand unto Brahma and the whole Universe , spread up to endless sky or the entire spaces, near and far . Let My world be eternal, endless and beyond geographical , World!

Oh my dear World, don’t be contracted, nor hopeless, or narrow hearted , and me, rather being small and more smaller would wrap you and hug you with utmost care.Journey Never stop

You become big and I stay small like your obedient child , only for looking into your magistry I would be very soft like a bunch of silk – very soft and formless , if I get a little alert , being rolled up like a Murshidabad silk ,try to enter into the circle of the ring with a gentle coursey .

The World Is Very Big, It Can Not Be Small like Pond. It’s so old that never been lost.

OH , MY COMPANION , COME  : DR. SUSHIL RUDRA

Oh my companion of joy and sorrow , the wind is blowing in my life , Let come to me for traveling another world where there’s no pain and suffering, no betraying , no unemployment , and no corruption like here .Space

The wind is blowing, the wind of outing for any beautiful places with my friends – tell to the trees, let come to outing with me. Let talk to the path that I might  return at late night , don’t wait for me , but keep shutting off thdoor.

🌙
🌟

You can sing a song for your  remote friends , but that song will be mingled with the drops of the dews in the space . You are to be carried out lots of fairy  tales , – but whom do you tell it ? Whose are your listeners? Before lying down on the bed the people are being absorbed in deep sleep ; beasts and birds are also in out of consciousness, probably they’re in their nest resting to gain the energies for the next expedition.                                                               Even the moon  and the  stars are not in awakened state. Thus we have wasted a massive times throughout our life. Oh  companion of sorrow and delight of my Life, Let’s go to another world of merriment, where the moon and stars, are always ready to welcome.

WHEN WORDS ARE ATOMS

WORDS after words are woven in fine to making an ornament for surrender in love , Might be a peaceful life.

Words build a strong Mansion where we live in , Words are source of Power, love and peace.

Words can create a long road , which is loyal to us like a legal deed. We need words in struggle to reach the goal of life.

Words are sometime immens’ly mysterious like dark tunnels, Never end its journey to destination.

We can’t keep words ever ultimately due to lack of power and confidence . So we never allow words to make a Dreamland .

In childhood days I dreamt of the entire skies where stars and planets gave me words for sheltering.

Its colourful beds wrap up with warm huggings , but it didn’t keep its words to make me vibrant  anymore I hoped .

Words are the voice of Lord if it comes from the core of heart, and from the soul.

It’s mantras of the sages are a kind of sagas which by listening heartily can transform our lives into peace.

But it’s very unstable as it buzzles out not alarming . Love words as your siblings, play with them.

If you dance day and night in pain and gain, but never try to make it friend in the rain and gain.

Words are atoms , They are from ” One “ , And ” One ” derives in many and many more . It takes sometimes a outer surface.

A cover like the outer surface of tortoise. It has no deep and sound significance, butif it’sunfoldeda vibrant light turns you dumb in the fight .

After an unwanted shivering like initial jet-jerking you will reach out to the midst of the galaxy, That world is not like this Earth,That’s a world of merriment.

Neither any useless mess nor any rough and tough game to make you worried or fix . These are the places for your renunciation. So Crack it.

You become enriched with its charming love. Here the wordsaresweetand the sky is like a sea having riffling with an aggressive mood and if you’re a true pilot, let go on a eternal voyages.

SHIULI AND AUTUMN

Shiuli, the flowers of Autumn moves me into a nostalgia. I suddenly jumped out at the long long past where there was a Shiuli tree at the far end corner of our ancestral home . Still I reach there when Autumn comes.

At every dawn woking up, I used to run to collect the flowers which dropped down on the ground surrounding the tree so that no one comes before me . And takes it up , still I feel the sounds of the dew, and also the sounds of falling Shiuli flowers on the ground of our garden in every Autumn.

Even more prominently I listen the sound of the dew now , A strange and pure smell captivating me and alerting about the presence of Durgama.

Her presence wipes out all the pains , sorrows of clouds of the moments. Broken all the isolation , discrimination and remoteness . Her presence spreads a lot of vibrant lights in our lives . We become enlightened , become free like a caged birds when they uncaged and fly in the sky.

I love to fly from hills to dessert at day and night with my wings. I won’t to be encaged in this narrow, restricted rooms with the unhealthy atmosphere. I want to fly, I want to make a room in the sky.

I feel it more and more in my heart when goddess Durga returns to her parent’s house with her siblings. Removing all the clouds of pain and suffering , spreading all her blessings . She comes here to remove the disease – pandemic with her divine light , Might we get peace and insight .

I don’t know why I again and again get absorbed in those greeny days. obviously, all those golden days were my long past Autumn.

My childhood days were colourful, and spontaneous . I was a school boy, who had to face a tedious school going. Wolking from home about three four km. There was river in between my home and school . we have to cross over this river by boat. In rainy season, the river turns horrible with massive refflings. More lot of home tasks, and exams, our journey of botheration lastly stopped with the dew fall and with the mesmerising scent of the Shiuli, and coming of Gauri Ma, Which I still feel in heart heart.a breath and in the Sky.

I DREAM I WANT  TO  LIVE

Don’t try to live forever. You will not succeed.” — G. B . Shaw

Life of a common people like us is  not bed of roses. We have the right to dream for a better world , but the path is full of hurdles. In this poem this struggling journey is depicted. – Dr. Sushil Rudra ——————————————-

It’s drizzling raining with thunder storms touching me by its cooling sensation, I am wetted with it furious hugging, My bones, my blood and my soul too . The masculine blows like an angry giant shivering and shouting loudly , which touching me , my skin and wounds me , wrapped with black clouds. What a surprise ! A white gascious substance coming out from my eyes and uncertain dreams showering like rain without any conscious , So , I , engage in pudding the holes .

I am trying to collect the small pieces of paper and making a boat , Probably, a holy spiritual man sails away for a remote kingdom . The sink of bathroom has filled in water . I’m then early age, My beloved mother shut off the sink quickly with rebuking me ; Noya hurt the Night with full swing and energy, as if it stinks out.

The Tsunami is live in deep blue sea , nobody survive , I am standing at the end of the Titanic , alone , No friend with me . I’m alone there, Alone — Going to the deepest sea . The big ice pieces cover me from the poisonous sharpen teeths of Sharks , But I am undone to save Noya from this dreadful situation , May God save her for ever.

I’m as good as dead waiting in the dream world for love and happiness and to hug . So I start for an unknown world where I can get security to live in peace.

GREENS ARE NOT SAFE

0h! Trees! Why are you speaking to each other? ” Greens are not safe ” – they answered. A flock of sheep is coming from the field. Some sparrows came sharp and keep flying over the sky like a trembling aeroplane.

Two squirrels challenging each other crossed the yard of the house quickly and embrassing  the jackfruit tree. A shoal of fishes – hunting Herons sooping down to have fish for their lunch.

Some of them waiting in despair on the bank of the pond, like the idle native senior folks, not having any hunt , and The pigeons are cooing  perhaps for any conspiration. Don’t know for what purose !

The rows of the orange tree gardens are beside the street where oranges are glittering with full of juice heading down to the earth to sacrifice its energy for the mankind , Till not dropped down on the plane , Perhaps they’re waiting for dripping.

The Papaya trees stand there in a same manner. The mango trees still standing at their own place , As if maintaining the silence , unheard of the yellow sounds of Summer.

Indian nightingale, Bau- Katha – Kao playing together And Their  round spotted  decorative rears making a uniform sounds out of its different sounds  ,              And on the trunks of the trees are kept a full plate of black mashrums , Besides , some refugees are making their rooms for living a peaceful life.

We don’t know why some business man whispering each other! And marking a field with their scale and map. Perhaps this green field gives birth to a big mansions in the future.

All the fields will no longer there. So there remains no rooms to roam and play for the native children and the seniors . Save the green please. Please save the greens for future

KALPATARU SRI RAMKRISHNA

Kalpataru Sri Ramakrishna :1st January, 2021

From midnight 12 am , New Year 2021 starts its journey for the next 365 days until it reaches another New Year of 2022. At present all most all the official works and activities are maintained according to English Calendar. But there is another event we also regard it with great respect, that’s Kalpataru Sri Ramakrishna Diwas .

WHY ENGLISH CALENDAR !

From monthly salary to grocery store the accounts and transactions are made following to English Calendar. So we enjoy the new year day as a holiday. British Government ruled out our country more than 2 hundred years.

We used to follow up with their culture and tradition since then . If we try our best to remove all these practices from our lives , it will not be proper as per our own Indian tradition.

Because , we have been made accommodation in our ways to living with all the diversities which we had to face in course of our journey generation after generation.

FOREIGN INVADE : KALPATARU SRI RAMAKRISHNA AND TAGORE

Foreign rulers invaded our country and established here and gradually they’re becoming our own neighborhood. We have been accustomed to their culture and practices.

Aryan came here first , then Shak , Hun ,Pathan, Mughol and lastly English ruled out country. We became united. There’s no other way than mingling with them. Humanist Poet, Rabindranath Tagore wrote in a poem ” Bharattirtha” :

Eso he Arya , eso anarya , eso he Dravid Chin / Shak Hun Dall Pathan Mughol Aek Dehe Holo Leen.” ( Come Aryan, come non – Aryan , come Dravid Chin , Shak Hun Dall Pathan Mughol United in a one body. )

NEW YEAR FESTIVAL : KALPATARU SRI RAMAKRISHNA

One poet remarks: ” East and West shall never meet.” But in this case, I mean, about New Years Festival , we are not conservative at all. We are celebrating this fest with full of joy and merriment. But it’s not our matter of discourse . Today is a memorable day in the history of Sri Ramakrishna spiritual movement and Ramkrishna Mission .

KALPATARU DIWAS : SRI RAMAKRISHNA

1 st January is regarded as Kalpataru Day by the devotees and followers of Ramkrishna Mission and Math . It’s celebrated in all centers of Math and Mission in India and in the Vedanta centers of out side of India.

What is the significance of Kalpataru Utsav or festival ? Why it’s sacred day?

KALPATARU DIWAS : SRI RAMKRISHNA

1st January, is regarded by millions of his household devotees as Kalpataru Day because it was on this day in 1886 that Sri Ramakrishna showered on a select few who had gathered in the Cassipore Garden House, his wish fulfilling blessings.

From that momentous day onwards the day has come to be observed in Kalpataru Day, the day when the great Guru reappears, as it were, to bliss his disciples year after year.

Now Kalpataru Day has become as sacred as his birthday when devotees throng the Ramkrishna Maths the world over to pay their obeisance and seek his blessings, again and again.

It’s true that His followers believe that Sri Ramakrishna revealed himself to be an Avatar or God Incarnate on earth. It’s classified as one of the “Lords special festivals by the followers of Sri Ramakrishna.

The first January, 1886 Kalpataru Day, was an event of unusual consequence and meaning in the life of Ramkrishna and His followers.

HISTORY BEHIND KALPATARU

Ramkrishna was suffering from throat cancer at that time, and his health was declining. He and His closest followers had moved to garden house in the northern Kolkata neighborhood of Cassipore.

1 st January was relatively good day for Him. He took a walk in the garden. There He asked one of His followers, Girish ( a great drama writer and poet of Bengali literature) , a question He had often asked before, ” Who do you say that I am? “.

Girish replied that he believed that Ramkrishna was ‘God Incarnate’ , come to earth out of mercy for mankind.’

Ramkrishna then replied, ” What more shall I say ? May you be awakened. Ramkrishna then entered an ” ecstatic state ” and began touching all of His followers present there.

THE COSMIC FEELING

Those He touched reported experiencing a variety of new states of consciousness , including vivid visions. For one Vaikuntha, the visions persisted and interfered with daily life, so that he feared that he might be going insane.

Another disciple, Sri Ramchandra Dutta, explained that Ramkrishna had in effect become Kalpataru, the wish fulfilling tree of Sanskrit literature and Hindu mythology. Datta named the commomoration of this mystical event ” Kalpataru Day” as a result.

The event carried meanings and memories of cosmic import for the disciples and also prepared them for Ramkrishna’s death , which occurred only a few months later, on 16 August, 1886 .

So , Our new years celebration is something different from others. We regard this first day of every new year worshipping Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna.

We pray to Him . This year we, along with the members of Vivekananda Vani Prochar Somity went to visit two interior village of Tribals to distribute blanket and lunches to the poor tribal folks. In Kalpataru Sri Ramakrishna Diwas it is our duty to serve the poor as Shiva. So we did . They’re very poor . We spent some time with them. And after getting Prosad ( lunch), we returned home.

This was a very interesting events which we enjoyed today.

Hope my readers have to spend a pleasant day. Happy new year to you all. Stay healthy and be peaceful. Kalpataru Sri Ramkrishna will bless us with a delightful life.

JAI KALPATARU SRI RAMKRISHNA !!!

WHO AM I ? WHY AM I HERE ?

Who Am I ? Am I a body Or A Physical one like so many other things in this material World . What is more important – my body , or my mind , intellect , my internal world ? Ninety nine point nine percent people of this universe are busy in outer World – about physical interest like food , health, education, office works, business, marketing and so on. They don’t have time to think about self , like to know the inner World.

When anybody ask me ,’ Who are you?’ I generally reply , ‘I’m Dr. Sushil Rudra or I am Mr. Rudra’ . Such and such . Further I give my description that I am a citizen of India , I belong to Durgapur city of West Bengal. Or I say , ‘ I am a Professor of a college and teach literature. Even during introduction we refer to the age , father’s name, father’s profession, my qualification, the name of the University from which I passed. In any application fill up , you’re asked about your caste , religion and so on. T

his is peculiar when we have to produce Aadhar card or Voter identity as our identity. Whether I am married or not – this is obviously necessary for the job or in social appr hioach. But we don’t have the energy or inclination to know our inner self . we know many things about ourselves, but we don’t know who am I ? This question we never ask ourselves consciously. The man who is interested to know his inner self , he is actually proceeding towards God .

What we are faced with often is the basic question of ‘Who am I ? ‘ or ‘ What is it all about? ‘ Why should we be here ?’

Truly, the modern education can’t be able to answer such a question. Why should we come here ? What’s the purpose of coming here in this earth ? The answer of this question is not given by the modern educationists. Modern education system does not provide such kind of knowledge as it is not governed by Indian traditional thoughts of education. It is entirely motivated and also designed to keep mind the Western educational system. Rabindranath Tagore or Swami Vivekananda didn’t agree with this system of education . Both the Great men of India thought about the system where the western knowledge of science and Technology with the mixture of Indian traditional system of education both jointly will be imparted to the Indian boys and girls . As a result, the students must have been enriched with both internal and external World as well . Undoubtedly, this would have been a great and fabulous education system to be given all the Indian boys and girls . But it is not happened . Ultimately we have learnt half of the education, not fully done.

Modern education can’t enrich our internal world or have no tendency to go through the inward portion of our mind or self . Which it gives us that’s how we can be successful in material world. And by learnt it we have been running after the wealth , money , prestigious post , gorgeous private car , multi stories building etc . This ultimately kills your energy and times . The more you get the more you desire . We don’t know where to stop . Science and Technology can give you satisfaction by supplying energy, electricity, medicine , vehicles and so many amusing things , but 7 of science and technology enhancing and providing our material needs , simultaneously we are lagging behind from the knowledge of self – discovering. Truly, we are ignoring our soul , the atom of personal God which lives within us .

” Every man is potentially divine .”

SWAMI VIVEKANANDA’S MASSAGE TO HIS COUNTRYMEN

Dr. Sushil Rudra Durgapur , W. Bengal.

Introduction:

India has produced so many great men like Rabindranath Tagore, Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Bose and so on, but Swami Vivekananda is regarded as the greatest personality of all times. To speak the truth, he is always regarded worldwide as the spiritual teacher and the preacher of universal brotherhood between East and West . Swami ji never thought about himself. Motherland and its people was his first priority, but to him ,the people of all countries in this World was his brothers and sisters.

SWAMI VIVEKANANDA’S CHICAGO LECTURE : In the inaugural lecture at Chicago in the World Religious Conference , he addressed to the spectators of America as the ” Sisters and Brothers of America ” which mesmerized the people of Western World and Vivekananda became famous in American society . Later he continuously gave lectures in America and Europe about Indian philosophy and Hindu Religion which is of five thousands years old and which is of great profound in knowledge of the ancient monks of India.

¶¶ VEDANTA IN THE WEST :

While Swami Vivekananda spreading this fabulous ancient knowledge of India in the West , the intellectuals of the West moved by it . The universal teaching and profound learning of the Swami made a deep impression upon the minds of the American intelligentsia. Not only American intellectuals , Great Orientalist ,Professor Max Muller of Oxford University , E. T. Sturdy , Roman Rolland, Christopher Isherwood, Poll Dawson of Germany , Jules Bois of France , Arnold Toyenbi – all these distinguished persons were also influenced by him .

¶¶ SWAMI JI’S MESSAGE :

What was his massage to the West ? Or what he told there that they became influenced by him? September 11, 1893 The Monday was a special day to Swami Vivekananda. This day is remarkable in the history of mankind , because , Swami Vivekananda uttered some words which is the key of World peace. Modern world has been highly enlightened and enriched through the progress of science and technology . The entire world has been changed into a big city . Through technological development and massive progress of science , we are getting a lot of amenities . Medical science widens longevity of men’s survival . But Communalism, bigotry, religious fundamentalism, terrorism and nasty politics are alwa hiys making this world into a Hell. The battles of Orthodox religious fundamentalism, Low and high caste problems , political differentiation , corruption in all spheres of the societies , vandalism etc are the burning problems of the country like India and world as well . In such an environment and circumstances , the path which Swami Vivekananda proclaimed , that’s the need of the time. What he advised and remarked that very day ! Let’s try to memorize his utterances.

¶¶ HINDUISM AS THE MOTHER OF RELIGION :

Vivekananda presented there Hinduism as the mother of religions – a religion which had taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance. He quoted two beautiful, illustrative passages taken from the scriptures of Hinduism: ” As the different streams having their sources in different places all mingle their water in the sea , so O Lord, the different paths which men take , through different tendencies, various though they may appear, crooked or straight, all lead to Thee.”

” Whosever comes to Me , through whatsoever form , I reach him ; all men are struggling through paths which in the end lead to Me. ”

It was only a short speech, but its spirit of universality, its fundamental earnestness and broadmindedness completely captivated the whole assembly. There were other Hindu delegates who stood for societies or churches or sect but the Swami Vivekananda , who belonged to no sect but rather to India as a whole, proclaimed the universality of religious truths and the sameness of the Goal of all religious realizations. In the course of his illuminating addresses, Swami Ji placed before the audience the cardinal truths of Vedanta, the universal religion of humanity.

¶¶

UNIVERSAL RELIGION:

Again he distinctively uttered : ” If there is ever to be a universal religion, it must be one which will have no location in place or time ; which will be infinite, like the God it will preach , and whose sun will shine upon the followers of Krishna and Christ, on saint and sinners alike; which will not be Brahminic or Buddhistic , Christian or Mohammedan , but the some total of all these , and still have infinite space for development ; which in its catholicity will find a place for every human being, from the lowest grovelling savage not far removed from the brute to the highest man towering by the virtues of his head and heart almost above humanity. It will be a religion which will have no place for persecution or intolerance in its polity , which will recognize divinity in every man and woman and whose whole scope, whose whole force , will be centred in adding humanity to realize its own true , divine nature. Offer such a religion and all the nations will follow you…… The Christian is not to become a Hindu or a Buddhist, nor a Hindu or a Buddhist to become Christian. But each must assimilate the spirit of the others and yet preserve his individuality and grow according to his own law of growth.” He concluded the speech with alerting that the Parliament of Religions had shown to the world that holiness, purity, and charity were not the exclusive possession of any Church in the world and that every system had produced men and women of the most exalted character. In the face of this evidence, if anybody dreamt of the exclusive survival of his own religion and the destruction of others, he was to be pitied and told that upon the banner of every religion will soon be written, in spite of resistance: ‘ Help and not fight’, Assimilation and not Destruction’, Harmony and Peace and not Dissension’.

¶¶ VIBRANT WORDS OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDA

The effect of these mighty words was tremendous. The news of Swami Vivekananda’s unparalleled success poured into India very soon . Though the media of that time was not like today’s electronic media. But this fabulous news reached here through the famous newspaper of India . It was printed mostly in the Hindu , the noted newsprint, published from Madras ( Chennai). Swami Vivekananda was then world renowned spiritual teacher, great Indian monk , big orator and philosopher. Within few years he founded Ramakrishna Mission and math at Belur , near Kolkata for the service of mankind which is an eminent philanthropic organization .

¶¶ INDIA: HIS ULTIMATE GOAL :

However, in the midst of recognition of his genius, universal applause, and immense popularity, He was never for a moment forgetful of his duties to the sunken masses of India. On the very day of his triumph when he was invited by a man of great wealth and distinction to his home and lodged in a princely room fitted with luxury beyond anything he could conceive, instead of feeling happy in this splendid environment he was miserable. He could not sleep, pondering, in contrast, over India’s plight. The bed of down became to him a bed of thorns. He rolled down on the empty floor and in agony of his heart cried , ‘ O Mother, what do I care for name and fame when my motherland remains sunk in utmost poverty? Who will raise the masses in India? Who will give them bread ? Show me, O Mother, how can I help them .’

¶¶ VIVEKANANDA’S MISSION :

The great – hearted Vivekananda wrote inspiring letters to his disciples and admirers in India to stimulate their hearts into activity and a high pitch of patriotic fervour. — ” Gird up your loins , my boys,’ he once wrote, ” I am called by the Lord for this. The hope lies in you — in the meek , the lowly, but the faithful. Feel for the miserable and look up for help – it shall come.

Vivekananda not stopped there . He expressed his agony and suffering for this mission. Here we see his untiring efforts to remove the darkness of ignorance and the dearth of hunger of the poverty- stricken peoples of his motherland. He wrote : ” With a bleeding heart I have crossed half the world to this strange land seeking for help . The Lord will help me . I may perish of cold and hunger in this land, but I bequeath to you , young men, this sympathy, this struggle for the poor, the ignorant, the oppressed. Go down on your faces before Him and make a great sacrifice, the sacrifice of a whole life for them – these three hundred millions, going down and down everyday. Glory unto the Lord , we will succeed .”

¶¶ Vivekananda never forgot in the midst of luxury the primary idea of his mission – to save his people, to mobilize them to help him in his task by widening his appeal until it became the cause of the people, the cause of the poor and the oppressed of the motherland as well as the whole world.

¶¶ For the sake of this mission and particularly to serve the cause of his motherland he accepted the offer of a lecture bureau for a tour of the United States. He expressed his mission to India in some of his lectures which he delivered in Madras after returning from West . Here he gave an eloquent utterance to his massage to India in these lectures comprising ‘My Plan of Campaign’, The Mission of Vedanta’, and ‘The Future of India’. Swami Ji observed the problems of the India very deeply and prescribed the solution accordingly. ‘ Each nation ,like each individual’ he said , ‘ has one theme in this life , which is its centre , the principal note with which every other note mingles to form the harmony. If any nation attempts to throw off its national vitality , the direction which has become its own through the transmission of centuries, that nation dies .

¶¶. THE MUSIC OF NATIONAL LIFE :

In India religious life forms the centre , the keynote of the whole music of national life. Social reform has to be preached in India by showing how much more spiritual a life the new system will bring, and politics has to be preached by showing how much it will improve the one thing that the nation wants – its spirituality. Therefore before flooding India with socialistic or political ideas the land should first be deluged with spiritual ideas . The first work that demands our attention is that the most wonderful truths confined in our Upanishads, in our scriptures and Puranas , must be brought out from the books, the monasteries, and the forests and scattered broadcast over the land so that these truths may run like fire all over the country, from north to south , and east to west, from the Himalayas to Cape Comorin , from the Indus to the Brahmaputra.’

Vivekananda’s call reached every corner of our country . His love for motherland Inspired so many freedom fighters . Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose considered Swamiji as his spiritual Guru . Netaji wanted to initiate in renunciation and he went to Belur Math with this desire , but clairvoyant Swami Brahmananda, the then President of Ramkrishna Mission could envision his future and advised him that sannyasa was not his cup of tea , his love for the country would lead decidedly to the realm of politics where he would play massive role for the country’s emancipation.

However, not only Netaji , others freedom fighters , even Mahatma Gandhi to Dr. Radhakrishnan to Abul Kalam Azad , Present Prime Minister of India to Late Pranab Kumar Mukherjee, Ex President of India took and followed Vivekananda’s ideal, vision and mission in their activities.

That’s why, India government declared Swami Vivekananda’s birthday 12 January as an Youth Day .

Swamiji’s mission is still not fulfilled . Women education has been spread , but they are not safe at all in the society. Youths are in great fix as there are massive unemployment . Our country is going through a crucial time. Extremists problem, Unemployment, corruption in all sectors , political vendalism are the most important problem of our country. We see the lack of nationalism amongst the leaders . They should follow Swamiji’s teaching in order to change the scenerio and to develop our country.

Joi Hind ! Bharat Mata Ki Jay !

MEMOIRS OF MY EARLY LIFE

India My India Love You

My memoirs of my early life was full of joy , like a common village boy , I was then to some extent emotional guy than other school – going boys . My school was at a distant place , but I never reached there late .

It was tough in rainy season to reach in time, have a wide river in between our village and my school, the learning temple of mine , my school which was on the bank River Bhagirathi, Never I reached there in late.

Village People there bathing and washing body returning to their home with quick pace . Boys are jumping to swim with their friends , someone doing Surya pronam and women are expressing their pain .

My home was a big one having almost fifty doors , And every room has a name , the building was two storied , Even there is a name of every room like pasher ghar (side room), Sajjaghar( dressing room), and so on . Bhoger Ghar and so on.

The main door was in the east direction and way out in the West. There was a jackfruit tree and also flower’s gardens – where my father used to clean the grasses under the tree.

Baithak Khana was a beautiful place surrounding with trees , there every year in winter vegetables were being cultivated, it was our daily menus in the lunch and dinner .

We have some cows which were nurtured by Mujahar Bhai, a royal servant in my home, he will never die . I used to go out with him , in the autumn or in the spring .

Every year before Durga Puja , Our elders used to start a rehearsal the drama in the Baitak Khana, there assembled interested peoples for acting drama, in which Shyamdada used to play Harmonium, and some man play in the role of women .

It was interesting to us in the rehearsals every year . Shyam Dada was very fond of opium. Playing cards was his favorite game , both Sundar uncle and he played the game.

My father’s room was at end of the building, named Kuthuri Ghar. There was two big flower gardens adjacent to it , He used a arm chair where he laid down up to mid night , I felt some uneasy for that and had a fear of ghost or thief .

My father stared at the laugh of the multi – coloured flowers, His only work to plant tree and to blossom flowers . My father was also a very emotional man , have a great sympathy to the poor and needy , but he spent with the financial crisis unto the last breathe .

I spent my college life in our city home , My mother used to prepare our lunch and dinner alone ,none are there to help her. She never complain about it to my father.

Never she cries. During our Puja vacation we returned our village home to enjoy the grand ceremony of Durga Puja which was very amazing to us, never forget these days, love to remember it again and again .

SWAMI VIVEKANANDA : THE POET & HIS POEMS

The Poet And Saint

Swami Vivekananda is an Indian monk of Ramakrishna order who preached Hinduism and Indian culture in American society in the last decade of nineteenth century . He was a great philosopher , stupendous orator , and modern thinker of the world. He is the only man from India after Rammohan Roy who tried to unfold the great Indian cultural heritage before the people of the West . To keep it mind , Rabindranath Tagore once told Romain Rolland , “If you want to know India, Read Vivekananda.” Sri Aurovindo’s remarks about Vivekananda is also significant. He told, ” The going forth of Vivekananda, marked out by the Master as the heroic Soul destined to take the World between his two hands and change it, was the first visible sign to the World, that India was awake not only to survive but to conquer. ” Truly , Swami Vivekananda was the maker of modern India. Indian mass was awakened with the name of this great son of the soil.

¶¶ Swami Vivekananda was a great Saint and Philosopher. But we don’t know about another side of his personality ; he was a marvelous poet though he didn’t write more. He composed his poems in English language. Today I gonna to discuss about his poetic feelings in this blog.

¶¶ Swami Vivekananda was not a poet like conventional way . He was a poet like an ancient saint who felt the internal truth of the world through his inner eyes . The poet, in one sense, is the intense truth – seeker of the Universe. In true sense, the poet is also a Saint. He who notice the truth of the life and the world in his stream of consciousness and reveals it through his divine powers of imagination and magical poetic feelings ,actually he is poet . In that sense, Swami Vivekananda is called to be a poet . From Brahma to insects are the alter where almighty God lives . God is everywhere. He who feels it , he is poet . Swami Vivekananda is a poet in that sense. ¶¶ The hymns of Upanishads made a deep attraction to him . From his childhood he loved to recite poems. He read Milton’s “Paradise Lost ” at the very young age. Milton was his favorite poet . He recited the poem’s of Milton. Reading Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Byron , Shelly’s poems and literature was his favorite subjects. Once he wrote about the essence of Upanishads – ‘ There is no poetry marvelous like Upanishad. Even it is found in ‘Sanhita’ of Veda which is poetic. These writers of Veda and Upanishads are great poets . He thought that the internal truth can be had from the poems of this great saints of ancient India. How did he influenced with the hymns of Upanishads and became a poet , I shall extract a song from his collection: ” Lo! The sun is not, nor the comply moon, All light extinct; in the great void of space Floats shadow – like the image – universe.

In the void of mind involute, there floats , The fleeting universe , rises and floats , Sinks again , ceaseless , in the current “I”.

Slowly , slowly, the shadow – multitude. Entered the primal womb , and flowed ceaseless. The only current, the “I am ” , ” I am ” .

Lo ! ‘Tis stopped , ev’n that current flows no more , Void merged into void – beyond speech and mind ! Whose heart understands , he verily does .

¶¶ It was written in Bengali, his mother tongue . and rendered from it . The name of the poem is ” The Hymn Of Samadhi ” . The content of the poem is highly philosophical which he felt during his deep meditation . The poet talk about the state of mind in its inner world when the activities of the external world is absolutely stopped. It is called samadhi in Hindu religion. But it is obviously an incredible poem like mantra having a significant meaning of higher state of the spiritual mind .

¶¶ Swami Vivekananda was a fan of the epic and poetry of modern Bengali poet Mycheal Madhusudan Dutta . He was his ideal poet . Swami Ji was influenced by Upanishads and other ancient scriptures, by The great Poet Kalidas as well as Vaisnab Padabvali and modern English and Bengali poets . The Gita and Panchadoshi was also his favorite literature. ¶¶ He liked most the poetry of Wordsworth. One day in absence of English literature professor, the principal of this college Mr. William Heshty came to the class and discussed about the poem of Wordsworth . This was a poem of super natural phenomenon. In that context Mr . Hesty told that a man has been experienced such feelings who lived in Dakhineswar . Vivekananda, being inspired went there to meet him. This was first historical meeting with Sri Ramakrishna. He was also the poet of the poets .

¶¶ Vivekananda composed only 21 poems both in English and Sanskrit . He wrote a poem in Sanskrit. But his prose is very placid and also poetic. Specially his letters are full of poetic sublimity and rhetoric.

When Swami Vivekananda in the West

¶¶ Swami Vivekananda wrote his first poem in America before Chicago Religious Conference . He was then a unfamiliar monk . ‘O’r hill and dale and mountain range’ is his first poem (1893). Merry Luis Bark , The Western researcher of Swami Vivekananda, discovered this poem and published it in her book “Swami Vivekananda and the West: New Discovery “. Another researcher of Swami Vivekananda ,professor Shankari Prasad Basu translated this poem in Bengali (Sanman O Siddhi ). Swami Ji had to face a lot of obstacles and pain , but by virtue of struggle he overcame all these incidents and reached the ultimate goal ,the ‘perfection’ which is the destination of a religious monks. This is the content of the poem ” ‘O’r hill and dale and mountain’. He expressed the pain and suffering of a devotees ,though it was his personal feeling. He wrote : ” Like a child in the wildest forest lost I have cried and cried alone. Where art thou gone my God my love. The echo answered gone .” Next suddenly he got calling from the eternal ‘One’ who is our almighty Mother or Father. This feelings are as follows : ” Till one day midst my cries and groans Some one seemed calling me A gentle soft and soothing Voice. That said. ” my son ,” ” my son ” .

¶¶ ” The song of the free ” (1895) and ” The song of Sannyasn ” ( 15 the July ,1895) are the beautiful poems composed by Swami Vivekananda which are undoubtedly the wealth of English literature. He was the follower of Vedanta. The great spiritual guru of India, Shankaracharya inspired him in course of his spiritual journey . He modernized it according to the time and space. And tried to connect with the life. Vedanta do not only effective in the secret of forest , it can also be effective in our daily life . Man can practice it scientifically in each and every activities of life. Without struggle you can achieve any great deed in life, or attain the goals of life . After untiring efforts and struggles the Truth can be had . The life of Sannyasin is not bed of roses . Swami Vivekananda had to face enormous troubles and pains to reach the platform of Chicago Religious conference. He wrote this poems seven days before the beginning of Parliament of Chicago. His dream was to attend the Parliament and it was going to be fulfilled. Despite all his sufferings he would have been achieved the goal which his Master , Sri Ramakrishna gave his shoulders that Naren will teach . In this poem it has been depicted . Besides , one can see God after mammoths struggling . Sorrows and sufferings are the companions of a devotee . But ultimately he will be illuminated. He will face the Truth, the eternal , infinite One “The Brahman” . The Brahman have no form , He is timeless and formless, but He is many – from Brahman to tiny insects. Again He is within us . It’s immortal. ” The cloud puts forth its deluge strength. when lightning cleaves its breast, when the soul in stirred to its inmost depth Great ones unfold their best . ” Let embrace the pain and suffering . It’s natural phenomenon in life. We have to fight against it . And after a stupendous suffering ,the the Truth reveals. ” Let eyes grow dim and heart grow faint And friendship fail and love betray , Let fate its hundred horrors send And clotted darkness block the way .” This way is tedious and full of sufferings, but gradually the faithful devotees though this course of journey must reach to Him . We then have to face to face and enlightened, illuminated. ” All natures wear one angry frown To crush you out… still know, my soul , you are divine, …..March on and on , Nor right nor left but to the goal ! ……………………………………………… The books do stop in wonder mute To tell my nature ; – I am he ! ” ‘Swo Aham’ or ‘Aham Brahmasmi’ , that means , I am Brahman! It is beyond time and space . The poet wrote : ” Before the Sun , the Moon , the Earth , Before the stars and comets free. Before e’ en time has had its birth I was, I am , and will be ! I am beyond all sense, all thought , The witness of the Universe ! “. The feelings of Shankarachriya and the feelings of Vivekananda are same . It’s the feelings of Addwaitya . God is One . …………. ” Not two or many, I’t is but one , And thus in me all ones I have , I can not hate , I can not shun My self from me – I can but love ! ”
