I DREAM I WANT TO LIVE

” Don’t try to live forever. You will not succeed.” — G. B . Shaw

Life of a common people like us is  not bed of roses. We have the right to dream for a better world , but the path is full of hurdles. In this poem this struggling journey is depicted. – Dr. Sushil Rudra ——————————————-

It’s drizzling raining with thunder storms touching me by its cooling sensation, I am wetted with it furious hugging, My bones, my blood and my soul too . The masculine blows like an angry giant shivering and shouting loudly , which touching me , my skin and wounds me , wrapped with black clouds. What a surprise ! A white gascious substance coming out from my eyes and uncertain dreams showering like rain without any conscious , So , I , engage in pudding the holes .

I am trying to collect the small pieces of paper and making a boat , Probably, a holy spiritual man sails away for a remote kingdom . The sink of bathroom has filled in water . I’m then early age, My beloved mother shut off the sink quickly with rebuking me ; Noya hurt the Night with full swing and energy, as if it stinks out.

The Tsunami is live in deep blue sea , nobody survive , I am standing at the end of the Titanic , alone , No friend with me . I’m alone there, Alone — Going to the deepest sea . The big ice pieces cover me from the poisonous sharpen teeths of Sharks , But I am undone to save Noya from this dreadful situation , May God save her for ever.

I’m as good as dead waiting in the dream world for love and happiness and to hug . So I start for an unknown world where I can get security to live in peace.

SATYAJIT RAY : THE CENTENARY

JAKHON CHOTO CHILAM : THE MEMOIR

Satyajit

JAKHON CHOTO CHILAM” (When I was a little boy) is the memoir of the great film director, distinguished writer and artist Satyajit Ray . Its the memoir of his childhood days . Like Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Jibansmriti‘ and ‘ Chelebela ,’ Jakhon Choto chilam is Satyajit’s reminiscences of his childhood days which he had experienced in and around of his family and also in city Calcutta.

SATYAJIT FORGOT IMPORTANT EVENTS , BUT REMEMBERED SMALL :

Perhaps Satyajit Ray forgot some important events of his early life and its time. sometime he has referred to very simple incidents, and he confessed that his old days memories never come to me distinctly. He forgot some important events, but some unimportant incidents he has remembered very distinctly .

Satyajit wrote in his memoirs ” when I was small.

When I was only five years old we left our old Gadpar house and came to Bhawanipur , I can’t recollect the day we left the house, but I could recollect still now the experiences a dream about our cook’s son , Haren . It was very silly and simple dream, but still now I can recollect.”

FORGOT IMPORTANT EVENTS BUT REMEMBERED SMALL:

¶¶ In his Memoir, Satyajit described both the important and silly events simultaneously and the relationship with the people he came to contact . He portraited in this Memoir about many famous individuals of his times and at the same time described the stories of numerous common people without making any discrimination.

¶¶ GADPAR IN SATYAJIT RAY’S LIFE :

Garpar‘ is the second chapter of this Memoir” Jakhon Choto chilam”. In his early age which Satyajit Ray had experienced in contemporary Kolkata (then Calcutta), he artistically penned it here in his placid language. His narrative is attractive and enriched with the history of Calcutta. Mostly are the vivid picture of the city of early twentieth century . It’s about the ‘ to Let ‘ signboard hanging infront of the house . In his latter life he hardly had seen it .

OLD AND NEW SCENARIO OF KOLKATA : ( The Centenary of Satyajit Ray) :

This scenario has changed now. It’s not found in Kolkata. He described about double decker bus without roof which ran on the way in his time in Calcutta. He used to enjoy this bus journey frequently in the upper deck . As there’s no roof so the traveling with gentle breeze was his enjoyment . Now Kolkata city is highly densed and the streets is over crowded, but during his time it was lonely and empty. There were no din and bustle at that time , no horrible road jam like now .

THE VEHICLES OF KOLKATA THEN : ( Centenary Of Satyajit Ray)

Various types of cars and vehicles used to run on the roads. These cars were of various countries of the World as it was the capital of British government of India. The foreigners used these cars. The design and the sound of the horns were different. Satyajit could have been identified the name of the cars by listening its horn – sounds. Mostly it were Ford , Shev , Humber , Voxhol , Doz , Wilsly, Buik , Siyotran and so on. There are some hoodless cars . Baby Austin was very small. In his later life he did not see these cars in Calcutta. Some big and gorgeous cars were found on the roads like Lancia , Lasal whose face was like a big snake. All these are very precious cars . Highly dignified wealthy people used it. Satyajit here remembers a car which looks like the cover or upper part of the body of a tortoise.

CENTENARY OF SATYAJIT RAY: HORSE CARTS IN KOLKATA

He had seen the carts which were tagged by the horse . But old these carts were not found in Calcutta. They had no motor vehicle , they used to travel by this cart . They didn’t feel comfortable traveling on it because of the hardness, but felt pleasure riding on it.

¶¶ Memoirs Of Satyajit : In Birth Centenary :

I have told previously that Satyajit described in this Memoir both significant and less significant incidents of his time. This year is Satyajit Ray’s birth centenary. We have lost our great man of Bengal. In his birth Centenary we will recall the days he spent in Kolkata from his memoirs ” Jakhon Choto Chilam”.

JETS ARE NOT FOUND IN THE SKY IN HIS TIME :

He narrates about the flights or jets flying over their house and city with horrible sounds which wasn’t found in his childhood days. One or two seated planes occasionally were found in the sky of Calcutta. That time in Damdam , Behala flying club has been started – Bengalee rich people are trying to fly and practicing regalarly with utmost zeal. Sometimes advertising pamphlets were being scattered from this light weighted two seater plane . It was very interesting to look at this flying liflets . Sometimes some of it reached to our rooftop. We used to collect it to see the advertisement. Once they found the liflets of Bata Company – renowned shoe company of India.

¶¶ Changing Habits In Consumer

Satyajit observed very keenly and seriously not only the change of the Societies, but even noticed many changes in the day to day used materials . In this Memoir he narrates all that things. In his childhood days they used brushes which was made by white coloured nylon Calinose Toothbrush. But at his old age it was not found in the market or didn’t use it.

THE PEN THEY USED :

Pens which we use today these are not used in between 1930 to 1950 . They used black- coloured Swan pen and Waterman Fountain Pen. It was very hardy, and not very light and thin like the pens we use now. These fountain pens were made by a material which is called Gutta Percha . If it’s brunt , it produces an odd scent. He favoured the old .

WHY THIS MEMOIRS ARE IMPORTANT :

So the Memoir of Satyajit Ray is highly precious for its socioeconomic status and the historical values. We can understand the the people of that time , their lifestyle, culture, habits and so on in this Memoir Jakhon Choto chilam.

Conclusion :

I will discuss more about this book and the contemporary Kolkata’s lifestyle, food and beverage, disease and Medicine etc in the next post. Please let me inform your interest and liking about this post .

TOUCH CAN HEAL

Touch of Mother’s hands is a source of energy and compassion. Imagine the scene of your childhood days when you were getting ill and feeling tired and worried about your health, mother’s company and touch of her hands on your head had been the quick relief of your ailment. So Touch works on human body like a good Medicine. And it’s some time more than that. So Touching with some pressure on your body can make you relief from any kind of pain and inflammation. Today I would like to share with you about the effectiveness of touch and pressure.

Story Behind it:

It’s from the times when people used to walk to their destination since there were no vehicles. A naturopath was passing through a jungle. He got a very severe headache, but unfortunately he didn’t have any of his medicines with him. Nothing could be done and he was suffering. While thus walking , he stepped on a thorn and got pricked. All on a sudden his headache disappeared. Being a health worker, he noticed that the pain in the leg caused by the thorn followed a particular path . Today we don’t know the name of this health master, but it’s said he discovered Meridians , the paths of energy flow in our body .

Power Points

Here we will learn about power points along the path of these meridians to communicate with the mind and body and to create harmony and balance in both. There are many modes of communication. One of the most popular ways to send a message to our inner consciousness is by applying pressure on these power points. Let find a tender point ( painful on applying pressure) by pressing all the different points given using your thumb. Precise locations are shown in the figure below.

Always sit or lie in a comfortable position and take a few deep breaths before and after the treatment. If you apply pressure, it should be deep and firm while being tolerable. Out of all the points given, work on the few that are most tenders. Repeatedly apply pressure for 30 seconds, and then release. Continue this for 1-3 minutes on each point. Avoid using power points for an hour after meals and don’t press on wart , scar ,mole, vericose vein , inflamed or injured area.

How to Improve Your Facial Beauty

Facial Tender Points

A Beautiful Face is the Gift Of God . Like nature a human face is the reflection of the whole body and mind. A beautiful face can win in every place. Sometimes a man or woman is judged by his or her face. Ugly faced human being takes time to be popular in the society. So from time immortal it’s the notion of the human being is to make himself or herself beautiful. Clear skin, delayed wrinkles, rosy hue in the cheeks, sparkle in the eyes, a perfect smile and a right attitude towards life give you what is known as facial beauty. Beauty reflects from within and so it’s very important not only to carefully select your cosmetics but also your lifestyle. It takes only 12 days for your body to completely change your skin and this could be a very useful time in recreating healthy skin. Stress, emotional disturbances, faulty eating habits, lack of hydration, poor hygiene, lack of exercise and critical self portrait are responsible for damaging the skin.

Self Help With Practice

Try minimum 2 times practice daily in a cool invironment in your home or in the park or anywhere you prefer. Start from 1,2 ,3 to 19 points and see the miracles. This helps stimulate circulation and gives a pink hue to the skin naturally. Besides, drink sufficient water. Because it’s the best help you can give to your skin. Try to avoid caffeine. Moisturise your skin adequately. Protect it from sun exposure, specially from late morning until evening. Use sunscreens before such exposures. Eat foods rich in natural fibres, vitamins and minerals. Devote some time to relax and meditate for at least half an hour. This reduces stress by relaxing and increasing your concentration, which results in efficient work. So why are you delaying? Start from today . Each and everyone is beautiful. You are also.

Yoga Can Cure Your Depressed Mind

Yoga Mundra: The Ancient Healing process

Durgapur , West Bengal

INTRODUCTION :

I’m Dr. Sushil Rudra , a newly senior citizen of India serving different Higher Educational Institution in India ( mainly in W. Bengal & Rajasthan, Kota ) now getting busy in blogging and other social works. But still I don’t give up my teaching and doing my job as a guest professor in a local government college in Durgapur city. What I want to express here in this blog is my energy which I have acquired from yoga practice.

MODERN TIMES & ITS IMPACT :

In modern times every human being is too much busy in household chores and in professional activities. Most often we become tired and worried . Our housewives to office workers, from students to school bus driver to daily passengers to home sarvent , everyone is in mental stress. No one can avoid it in this busy world . I think that our ancestors were not so busy like us . They had no busy schedule to attend in time. I am saying it because most of them were business man or cultivators or the owners of the lands . During draught or floods they had to face a lot of problems, otherwise they were happier than us . They enjoyed their lives in full swing. Moreover there was joint family and not like us in micro family system. So they had the umbrellas on their heads.

NEED OF YOGA IN STUDENT LIFE :

But we’re 3 to 4 in total. Husband and wife are engaged mostly in their profession and the children or childrens are either in school or spending their times in isolation. Maybe there governance to look after them. From their childhood they have been facing a lot of stresses . Generally today’s parents admitted their children to English medium schools . And we know it that the syllabus is overburdened . From morning 7. 30 to 2.00 pm they’re engaged there. In cities or towns there are jam at returning time. Therefore It takes much time to return home. After refreshments and lunch they are not given any time to rest for a while. It starts tuition from one teacher to another for weekly test and monthly test . We never face such kind of pressure in our learning. The cause is we have to wait for 6 months for half yearly examination and another 5 and half months for final. We have enjoyed much space and librarty during our school or higher education. But nowadays the scenario is different. Facing regular basis test boys and girls are confined to their learning and have no time to get free and they don’t get any opportunity being engaged in any other hobbies . Hobbies can make stressless anyone within a short period. Just like regular Yoga practice can add extra energy and enthusiasm to their daily activities. Specially it makes calm and tranquil to your mental state.

YOGA AND HOUSEWIVES :

Housewares or Working mothers are also facing mental health troubles due to their busy schedules. So how do you overcome this herculean tasks and at the same time stresses . First of all you should be punctual and try to finish your work in time. Do a routine of daily works and follow up it in scheduled time. But in all times it not happens . We can’t complete it as per rutine. And become stressed. In every family housewives and mostly working woman having faced long time stress turns into a mental hardles and ailment. Some are being diagnosed with the Doctor take medication, and most of them are not diagnosed and face depression . But only medication can’t relieve you from stress and anxiety. It’s Yoga practice that not only can keep you aloof from anxiety and stress , but also make your mental health to be sound and strengthful enough to face any kind of abnormal pressures.

YOGA FOR SENIORS

And lastly the seniors like me who have no other sources of income from any work. We try to be get engagement anywhere to spend time . Just as I am engaged in teaching in a college near to my home as a guest professor, but majority of seniors are not given such kind of engagement. So spend their times in isolation . Either in home before the Television or in nearest teastall along with the friends. But due to Corona pandemic lock down it has been stopped. So what I do for myself is to practice some free hand exercises and also some yogas and breathing exercises or Pranayama.

How To Start Your Day

First of all, you remember your parents and give salute to them . You can also salute any great men like Swami Vivekananda or any God you believe. Don’t think any negative thoughts after raising from sleep. Try to see your surroundings beautiful. Then washing and brushing your teeths and face take a glass of worm water and start some free hand exercises and then ” Suryanamaskar” . It’s a collection of 6/7 yogas must perform everyday for your overall health of body and mind . I will show you today in this blog. Before starting it , you have to put on fresh and soft dresses, not any tight germents.

Surya Namaskar Asana :

Get Ready : Stand up keeping the legs apart at about two feet distance. Let the hands hang loosely at your sides. Keep the head straight. And look directly in front and breathe normally.

STEPS: * Inhale slowly and raise both hands towards sky, in sidewise circular movement. Time it in such a way that by the time your hands come up, you also complete inhaling. When the hands are up , the palms should be turned forward and the arms should be in a parallel position.

* Now hold the breath and stay in that position for about six to eight seconds. While holding your breath, it’s important that you keep the upper part of the body quite loose , and the lower part rigid and hard . Bend your head down towards the ground . Your head should be between the two arms. Hands should be loosely hanging as far down as they can easily go . If you can bend easily, put the palms on the floor or just touch the floor. It’s important that you are not straining yourself or forcing your body excessively for making the bend . Please do only as much as you can do very comfortably and with ease.

* Bring both hands on the legs and inhale and come up in the standing position. While coming up let the palms pass over and touch the legs upward. Inhale slowly in such a way that by the time you have returned to the standing position and finished inhaling. Now you have completed one round of Suryanamaskar Asana.

Practice this Asana daily four times. Not more than that.

BENEFITS OF YOGA

What are the benefits ?

A) Performing this Asana has several benefits. It activates all the glands of the endocrinal system in a mild way . Because of this internal activation, the Pancreas, adrenal, thyroid, pituitary and some other glands begin to secrete their respective hormones in a normal way . Since the main trouble with persons of diabetic disorder results from the malfunctioning of the pancreas, this Asana corrects its defects by activating it.

B ) This Asana has also good effect on the stomach, spine , lungs and chest. Various types of disorders can be cured by practicing this Asana. As there is reverse circulation of blood during this Asana , it invigorates the facial tissues, the central nervous system and all the organs of the upper part of the body. So try to practice it regularly. Within 7 days you’ll feel the result of it. To be continued...

Nature is our best friend

WHY WE ARE GREAT // DR . S.RUDRA

29.07.20

Introduction:

: I love my motherland India like other Indians . Generally, We , the most of the Indians say ,” India is great”. As we say that my mother is the best just as we utter that my country is the greatest country in the World. But why and how?

India is a most populated country in the world just after China .We are now more than 130 crores in population. We couldn’t minimize this though have taken many measures from the side of government. Some sections of the Indian society are not alert about this birth control. So we’re becoming more populous country day by day. When I was a student in the University of Calcutta at the end of 1977 , I never see so much crowds in Sealdah or Howrah railway stations. After 30 to 40 years it has been crossed the limit though metro rail extended from one end to another. In normal situation the trains are overcrowded, passengers are traveling in hanging position in the entrance of the compartment. Buses are also the same condition. Peoples are dwelling in conjested area due to over population. So it’s the crying need of the time. We have to think about it. In future there will be scercity in living place. Despite, we get food here in cheapest price other than any country. Kolkata is more cheaper than any big cities of India. Middle class people can afford here which is not found in Mumbai or Pune or Bangalore. Delhi too. These four cities livings are costly. Despite we can have a square meals in 50 to 60 rupees in Mumbai near Tata Memorial Hospital in Parel, Mumbai. But lodging is very very costly there . It’s same in Delhi, Pune , Bangalore and some other cities. Despite our cities, towns and villages are in good condition in respect of market price of the commodities of everyday needs. Pandemic and natural disasters can not brake this situation. I have researched in the Indian bastees about their regular food intake and found that they used to take rice , dal(cereals) , vegetables and egg regularly in their diet. Perhaps they’re unable to have milk and fruits, but eggs and cereal is regular nutrition to their diet can improve their imunity. Their only problem is their lifestyle. Most of the man are addicted in drinking low quality alcohol. and used to expense much in this intake . This is the drawbacks of the so colled lower Societies. Education should be reached there. Very few people are there who is unfed or do not get a meal once a day . We know these old and ill people and arrange for lunch and dinner in daily basis by our volunteers.

Why Secular ?

We can say , we are secular. Because our Constitution made it to abide by and strictly maintain and respect to eachother beliefs and practices and also religions . We are Hindu , some are Mahamedan, some are followers of Jesus Christ, some are Persian and so on. Not only that , we are Bengalee, Maharashtrian , Tamil or Telegu , some are Odia , Aasamise, Monipuru , Kornati and so many races are the citizen of India. Food habits, lifestyle, culture, language, music are different from one each other. So India is not only for Bengalis or Biharis, or south Indians or other races . As various types of people live in this demography, so we are Indian . Therefore our Constitution directed our country as secular.

Tagore’s Views

The great poet , story teller, novelist and dramatist Rabindranath Tagore composed a poem many years ago before making our Indian Constitution. That’s ” Bharattirtha ” ( India: The Place of Pilgrimage). India to him is a sacred place for time immortal. It’s a holy land where born so many great people, so many monks from ancient times to modern era . Tagore compares this place as the vast seashore where came foreigners from different countries , but was being attracted to its intellectual and spiritual treasure they permanently established here . They’re being and becoming as Indian. In Bengali Tagore wrote , ” Shak, Hun Dal, Pathan Moghal Aek dehe holo Lin.” In English: Various races from foreign countries has come to invade this country and to loot its precious wealth, but ulmately they became attracted and established in this land . And converted into an Indian .

History of Degradation

Here will be explained why our country for the last few centuries has not been what she was in the past. I will take help of our great monk , Swami Vivekananda. He was a vigorous reader of World History. He delevered a lecture at the Triplicane Literary Society in Madras . He expressed in scientifically that two nations of the World sprung up from the same race , but being placed in different invironment and circumstances working out the problems of life each in its own way- they’re ancient Hindu and the ancient Greek. The Indian Aryan – bounded on the north by the snow- caps of the Himalayas , with fresh water rivers like rolling oceans surrounding him in the plains , with eternal forests which , to him , seemed to be the end of the world – turned his vision inward ; and given the natural instinct, the superfine brain of the Aryan , with this sublime scenery surrounding him, the natural result was that he became introspective.

The Dark More Than Night- Dr. S Rudra

Durgapur, W. Bengal . 25.07.20

We, the modern human beings are now passing through an unexpected and unnatural situations which has been experiencing most of the inhabitants of the World. Hope my readers might be same in opinion with me . Obviously it’s Covid19 that spreading in every corner of the continents and sub continents. We are fighting against it individually, socially, and above all scientifically. Government has taken so many measures from the inception of break out this fatal Virus. We have lost so many people in India and also aboard. Many people died in this virus . And many more are in dying condition. They’re not getting works , some has lost their services, some are being given half remuneration for the full month. Schools, Colleges, Universities are closed for uncertain periods. Students, teachers, non – teaching staff are almost in home . Only medical staff , specially the Doctors, Nurses, Para – Medics are engaged in this pandemic. They’re battling day and night to cure the covid patients. A few of them had died being attacked in this contagious viruses leaving their offspring, spouse and family. Now these people are facing the dark moments. Even they didn’t get opportunity to look last time to their beloved one during funeral.

Scientists are trying to make vaccine to get rid of this pandemic. Now we’re maintaining social distancing and always trying to be hygienic . Boys and girls are confined in home. Seniors are also same condition. They couldn’t go outside to get some energies. The relationships between the people has been disrupted. Children has lost their smiles. Scarcely you have to see the people laughing. In fact, we are in dark deep sea where there is no shores to reach and spend a peaceful day.

Perhaps One day vaccine will be discovered , not from a single scientist of a country, but from so many scientists of different countries. That day the world might calm and peaceful , but we don’t get return to the warriors who faught against it . We can’t remove their family’s pain and suffering. The newly married couples lost their husbands or wives. This happened in Bengal some days ago.

This situation prevails not only Bengal or India , it’s happening throughout the World. I am not above it . As a senior citizen I am to spend my maximum times in home. I have a little job in a college as a guest professor with very low remuneration. But it’s now stopped to go there. Online class and online test ( internal) completed. So no worries for work. But have worried for money. As ill luck would have it , the W. Bengal Government did not give any pension. Even nor did I get any facilities from my education department as then CPM government and their representative was against me. Because they thought that my family is not supporters of the Party.

Next Government comes , the new minister being motivated gave the permission, but the DPI and others were the supporters of the previous government ,so they opposed. I have only way that’s judicial help. I have battled for 25 years and won . But still I didn’t get my arears. So it’s not only my pain , my family too. I am now helpless, sinking in deep dark wave of the sea . No one come forward to save this sinking man .

I will open up my pains with you all my beloved readers. Recently , during this lock down situation my pain and suffering heightened in peak . I used to spend my life which I have possessed. But it’s my evil luck when I had to face some cheaters . This incident is lika a drama . I will discuss it before you . There are two causes behind it.

I spend my time in online Facebook, Twitter, linkedin, WhatsApp messenger etc . One one such friend proposed me to start a business. What this business is? She told that their company is in need of herbal oil for pharmaceutical purpose. She gave me two addresses of the supplier, one is Sunita Sharma and another is Aarya Choudhary. She sent me the mobile nos and email. I contracted them. They sent me Quotation. Next that introducer told me that company wants to test the oil. We will purchase 10 litters of oil – half half . She told me one day that she had sent money for 5 litres, you send for 5. Practically I have no such amount of money. I took loans from bank by giving my wife’s ornament. I have sent it. After some days the oils by currier reached to me. I don’t know what types of oil it’s. At last they sent a mail from their company ( –false) that we have deposited money USD 550000 , in PNC Bank. Sent me a username, user ID , Account. You will get money when you pay bank 5 lakhs.

That time my daughter discovered that it’s a false website. I have lost several lakhs rupees. I have no money in bank . Even I am to deposit money for loans of 2.5 lakhs.

So I am totally bankrupt. My wife, daughter is in great shock. I have no word to give them peace.

I wrote previously that I am describing this situation for two causes. One , being an educated person I am trapped in cheating by some people recently, they’re mostly from Delhi and Mumbai. So please don’t trust online relationship. Secondly, I write for my readers . They did not get any blog posts from me during this 3/4 months. If any well wisher help me in regarding this matter I can provide them all particulars of the cheaters.

Thank you . I hope my readers will understand me.

He was a versatile artist, writer, illustrator , painter, and director who brought the Indian cinema to world recognition with Pather Panchali (1955; The Song of the Road) and its two sequels ,known as the Apu Trilogy. As a director Satyajit was noted for his humanism , his versatility, and his detailed control over his films and music. He was one of the greatest filmmakers of the 20th century in the film world.

BATTLE OF SATYAJIT :

But this great Director had to fight a lot for making his films . He had no sufficient finance to implement his films . His mother helped him by giving some money, but it’s not sufficient . She then went to her friend, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Ray . Dr. Ray was her family friend also . She had à good relationship with him . And described the problem. Dr. Ray listened to the story and advised her to send Satyajit to him .

SATYAJIT MEETING TO DR . RAY

Next day, Satyajit Ray met with him. Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy asked to Satyajit what’s his plan and also told him to describe briefly his story of film. Satyajit described in brief . After sometime he called his secretary. Asked him, ” Is there any way to allot government scheme for his film making’? No provision, Sir, told secretary. Dr. Roy thought a few minutes and told Satyajit to add something about village economy in his film. Satyajit boldly answers, No Sir, it’s not possible. Having heard it , Dr. Roy replied, “Ok my boy , No problem. I think your film is connected to the village life and also a struggle of a village boy ,Apu. So we can provide you money for making your film.’ In making the film Dr. Roy ordered his secretary to grant 70 thousands rupees . If it’s not granted by Dr. Roy , we think that we don’t have got such an epic trilogy by which Satyajit Roy was honoured by the prestigious Oscar Prize .

In this blog I will paint a picture of Great Film maker , Director, Painter and Writer of India in his birth centenary. Hope , my readers will be enriched with this blog writing about Satyajit Roy.

WHO AM I ? WHY AM I HERE ?

Who Am I ? Am I a body Or A Physical one like so many other things in this material World . What is more important – my body , or my mind , intellect , my internal world ? Ninety nine point nine percent people of this universe are busy in outer World – about physical interest like food , health, education, office works, business, marketing and so on. They don’t have time to think about self , like to know the inner World.

When anybody ask me ,’ Who are you?’ I generally reply , ‘I’m Dr. Sushil Rudra or I am Mr. Rudra’ . Such and such . Further I give my description that I am a citizen of India , I belong to Durgapur city of West Bengal. Or I say , ‘ I am a Professor of a college and teach literature. Even during introduction we refer to the age , father’s name, father’s profession, my qualification, the name of the University from which I passed. In any application fill up , you’re asked about your caste , religion and so on. T

his is peculiar when we have to produce Aadhar card or Voter identity as our identity. Whether I am married or not – this is obviously necessary for the job or in social appr hioach. But we don’t have the energy or inclination to know our inner self . we know many things about ourselves, but we don’t know who am I ? This question we never ask ourselves consciously. The man who is interested to know his inner self , he is actually proceeding towards God .

What we are faced with often is the basic question of ‘Who am I ? ‘ or ‘ What is it all about? ‘ Why should we be here ?’

Truly, the modern education can’t be able to answer such a question. Why should we come here ? What’s the purpose of coming here in this earth ? The answer of this question is not given by the modern educationists. Modern education system does not provide such kind of knowledge as it is not governed by Indian traditional thoughts of education. It is entirely motivated and also designed to keep mind the Western educational system. Rabindranath Tagore or Swami Vivekananda didn’t agree with this system of education . Both the Great men of India thought about the system where the western knowledge of science and Technology with the mixture of Indian traditional system of education both jointly will be imparted to the Indian boys and girls . As a result, the students must have been enriched with both internal and external World as well . Undoubtedly, this would have been a great and fabulous education system to be given all the Indian boys and girls . But it is not happened . Ultimately we have learnt half of the education, not fully done.

Modern education can’t enrich our internal world or have no tendency to go through the inward portion of our mind or self . Which it gives us that’s how we can be successful in material world. And by learnt it we have been running after the wealth , money , prestigious post , gorgeous private car , multi stories building etc . This ultimately kills your energy and times . The more you get the more you desire . We don’t know where to stop . Science and Technology can give you satisfaction by supplying energy, electricity, medicine , vehicles and so many amusing things , but 7 of science and technology enhancing and providing our material needs , simultaneously we are lagging behind from the knowledge of self – discovering. Truly, we are ignoring our soul , the atom of personal God which lives within us .
